Ljubljana

Arrival at Ljubljana airport and transfer to the hotel to start the Ex Yugoslavia Tour. Later, a sightseeing tour of the old town squeezed between the castle hill and the river. If time allows,  we also visit the castle tower for a panoramic view of the city. Overnight in Ljubljana.

Ljubljana – Bled – Bohinj – Ljubljana

After breakfast, we’ll head for the Julian Alps to visit Bled where we’ll visit the 1000-year old castle and admire the lake and its small island and church. In the afternoon you’ll be taken to where the locals go – lake Bohinj and a very scenic drive through the countryside. In the evening transfer to Ljubljana. Overnight in Ljubljana.

Ljubljana – Zagreb

In the morning, you’ll set off for the Croatian capital – Zagreb making a stop along the way in Otočec. Later, a sightseeing tour of the old part of the Croatian capital. In the afternoon free time to visit some galleries and museums or just enjoy one of the many cafés Zagreb has to offer. Overnight in Zagreb.

Zagreb – Sarajevo

We’ll continue the tour driving to Bosnia & Herzegovina and its Olympic capital city, Sarajevo to Visit Balkan. Upon arrival, we’ll visit the tunnel that saved the city during the 1990s siege. In the afternoon check-in to the hotel and visit the city centre, considered to be the border between Eastern and Western Europe. Explore Baščaršija (old town) and taste local specialties such as “ćevapčići”, “burek”, etc. Overnight in Sarajevo.

Sarajevo – Mostar – Dubrovnik

Our next visit is to Mostar on the Neretva River with its beautiful bridge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We then travel towards Dubrovnik and in the evening we arrive at this pearl of the Adriatic. Overnight in Dubrovnik.

Dubrovnik – Kotor – Dubrovnik

After the breakfast drive to Montenegro. Visit the biggest fjord in Adriatic – Boka Kotorska with charming UNESCO-protected Kotor and sightseeing with a private local guide. After Kotor we drive to Budva – the biggest coastal resort of Montenegro. Later, return to Dubrovnik. Overnight in Dubrovnik.

Dubrovnik – Split

Our next stop is the biggest town in Dalmatia – Split. Split is considered one of the highlights of this exclusive private tour of ex-Yugoslavia. Explore Diocletian’s Palace – over the centuries transformed into the old city center of the Dalmatian capital. Guided tour of the old town with a visit to the cathedral St. Duje, Temple of Jupiter, etc. Overnight in Split.

Split – Trogir – Zadar

We then continue the private tour towards Trogir – a charming medieval Renaissance town built on a small island. Admire the famous Cathedral of St. Lawrence and the city walls surrounding the old town. We then travel towards Zadar which used to be the capital of Dalmatia. Visit the medieval churches of St. Donatus and St. Anastasia and the old Roman Forum. Overnight in Zadar.

Zadar – Plitvice – Opatija

In the morning drive towards Plitvice Lakes to spend the day in the most popular site in Croatia. 16 large and small lakes and 92 waterfalls form one of the most magnificent sites in the world. In the afternoon drive towards Opatija – 19C resort of the aristocracy. Overnight in Opatija.

Opatija – Postojna – Ljubljana

We complete our journey in Slovenia and visit the spectacular Postojna Cave on a small train taking us through fascinating caverns. Nearby visit of the Predjama Castle – built in front of the cave some 120 meters above the river. In the afternoon arrival and overnight in Ljubljana.
