This trip will take you to the heart of Julian Alps and towards georgeous Soča valley. River Soča is definitely one of the most beautiful rivers in Europe (and cleanest). Locals call it the Emerald beauty, because of its colour that is mixture of emerald green and turquoise color. But it was not always like that. During the WWI one of the crueles frontlines was taking place on the top of the mountains surrounding the Soča river. From that period we can still see lots of remaints (cemetarys, caverns, forts…). For the end we will enter Brda region to taste some of Slovenias best wines.

We will start from your hotel and drive towards Slovenias most famous ski resort – Kranjska Gora. This small tourist town is famous for skiing and also for ski jumping nearby, but also very popular in summer months as base for trekkings in nearby mountains. After Kranjska Gora we will head over the famous mountainpass Vršič (1611meters high), that was built during Russian prissoners of war during WWI. Today it  has 50 turns before you descend down on the other side of the mountain. We will also stop to take some beautiful pictures of the area that is also known as the Kingdom of Goldenhorn-slovenian legend.

On the other side we will drive beside river Soča and passing Bovec-the adrenaline centre in Slovenia, and arriving in Kobarid, where we will visit WWI museum and the ossuary above the town. Afterwards we will continue towards the most famous wine growing region-Goriška Brda, with charming hills surrounded by vineyards. In the afternoon we will head back towards hotel via Nova Gorica.
